The Magic of Motown

  • Immersive Media Performing Arts Center 409 Debuys Road Gulfport, MS, 39507 United States (map)

The Immersive Media Performing Arts Center (iMPAC) at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College’s Harrison County Campus is proud to announce The Magic of Motown — an electrifying night of timeless hits.

Presented by Moxie Events and starring The Motowners, The Magic of Motown is a high-energy national tour celebrating the unforgettable sound of "Hitsville, USA." Audiences will be transported through decades of iconic music with tributes to legends like The Temptations, Diana Ross & The Supremes, The Jackson Five, The Four Tops, Smokey Robinson, Gladys Knight & the Pips, and the Queen of Soul herself, Aretha Franklin.

This family-friendly performance is known for its dazzling choreography, dazzling costumes, and the infectious energy of The Motowners. The group has thrilled crowds across the country at cruise lines, concert halls, outdoor festivals, and casinos. Notably, The Motowners performed for Michelle Obama in 2012, followed by a private photo opportunity.

Founded in 2005 by producer Derrick Hadley, The Motowners were born from a desire to keep the spirit of Motown alive for new generations. Hadley’s own musical journey began in a gospel choir at age 13 and has been shaped by a deep family legacy in music, including a grandmother who studied at the New England Conservatory and a mother who taught choral music. A versatile performer, Hadley brings the full spectrum of R&B, jazz, Broadway, and Motown to the stage.

“This music has transcended generations and will continue to do so,” said Jennifer Saul Campbell of Moxie Events. “There is something magical about Motown, and we’re happy to bring it to the Mississippi Gulf Coast.”

Don’t miss this unforgettable evening of music, memories, and Motown magic.
